United Way Blackhawk Region is proud to support Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, helping young children across our community discover the joy of books from the very beginning.

Through this early childhood literacy program, enrolled children receive high-quality, age-appropriate books delivered directly to their homes at no cost to their families.

A new book every month

From birth through age five, enrolled children receive a new book in the mail each month, personalized with their name. Over time, those books become a child’s very own home library, giving families more opportunities to read, learn, and spend meaningful time together.

Building strong readers from the start

Learning begins long before the first day of kindergarten. Reading together during a child’s earliest years helps build vocabulary, language and listening skills while encouraging curiosity, imagination, and a lifelong love of learning.

By making books a regular part of life at home, families can help children develop the skills and confidence they need as they prepare for school.

Putting books into the hands of local children

Access to books should not depend on a family’s income or circumstances. Through our investment in Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, United Way Blackhawk Region helps make early literacy resources more accessible to families in the communities we serve.
